Nearly a month after the Gujarat

government
declared 51 talukas as scarcity hit due to scanty rainfall
, it has decided to provide financial assistance
of Rs 1,300 crore to farmers of 45 more talukas which received low rainfall.

The government had on October 22 declared 51 talukas, comprising 3,291 villages, as scarcity-hit
after they recorded less than 250 mm rainfall. It had also declared a Rs 5,100 crorerelief package
for these 51 talukas.

With this, the state government said it would be providing Rs 6,400 crore as relief package to 96 talukas.
Of the 45 talukas, farmers in 14 talukas which received between 250-300 mm rainfall will get Rs 6,300 per hectare assistance, while those in 12 talukas which got 300-350 mm rainfall will be given Rs 5,800 per hectare assistance.

Farmers in another 19 talukas that got 350-400 mm rainfall will get Rs 4,300 per hectare assistance, as per the terms of the government's relief package.

The decision to include more talukas for financial assistance owing to low rainfall was taken by a sub-committee formed to look into the hardship faced by farmers, a press release from the state government said.

"The state government had earlier declared 51 talukas as scarcity-hit. Owing to representations received by the Members of Parliament, MLAs and farmer leaders from affected areas, the state government decided to include more areas and declare a special assistance package," it said.


This is the first time that the state government has declared financial assistance for these 45 talukas receiving more than 250 mm rainfall, it said, adding that farmers can claim assistance fund for a maximum of two hectares in these talukas.

Booth Level Officer; A Representative of Election Commission at the Grass-Root Level

For enhanced participation of electors in the electoral process and reducing the electoral malpractices, it is essential to improve the quality of electoral registration process and of the electoral rolls. Booth Level Officer (BLO) is a local Government/Semi-Government official, familiar with the local electors and generally a voter in the same polling area who assists in updating the roll using his local knowledge. In fact, BLO is a representative of Election Commission of India (ECI) at the grass-root level who plays a pivotal role in the process of roll revision and collecting actual field information with regard to the roll corresponding to the polling area assigned to him.

Under Section 13B (2) of Representation of People Act, 1950, BLOs are appointed from amongst the officers of the Govt. /Semi Govt. /Local Bodies. Generally, one BLO is responsible for one part of the electoral roll. From August, 2006 the Commission has decided to introduce the concept of appointing BLOs who would be accountable for ensuring the fidelity of electoral roll.+

The ECI introduced this new system of appointing BLOs creating a clear line of accountability for preparation of an error-free electoral roll, making the BLOs its custodian at the polling booth level. Previously, voter-identification slips used to be distributed by the contesting candidates of various political parties and that gave scope for complaints. The preparation of accurate electoral rolls and direct distribution of voter identification slip by the BLOs also boosted voter confidence in the credibility of the election process.

BLO assists eligible citizens to become voters and obtain voter card. BLO provides those different forms for addition, deletion and correction of Electoral Roll entries, carries out physical verification, and gives his/her report to Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) .The BLO interacts with local people/ political parties’ representatives and identifies dead/shifted/duplicate voters to be removed from the electoral roll after due process of law. Out of the estimated 800 or so TV channels in India, around 332 have already declared their prices.

The remaining 470 or so channels can be assumed to be free, also known as free-to-air or FTA.

Within the 332 pay channels, 232 are transmitting in standard definition or SD, while the remaining 100 are HD channels.

Out of the 232 SD channels, 57 are priced at Rs 10 or more, while the remaining 175 channels are priced at Rs 9 or lower.

Petrol and diesel prices fall, know today's price
Due to the continuous depreciation of petrol and diesel prices, it is still on Sunday. Petrol prices are cheaper by 20 paise per liter after deduction today. On the other hand, the price of diesel has been found to be 18 paise per liter.

Petrol prices were down 20 paise

After the 20-paise deduction, the capital is being sold at Rs 70.07 per liter of petrol in Delhi today. The price of petrol in Mumbai is being sold at 75.69 liters per liter after deduction. If talking to Kolkata and Chennai, the cost of petrol in both major metros is cheaper by 20 paise per liter. After that, petrol liter in Kolkata is being sold at a price of 72.16 and in Chennai it is selling 72.70 liters.

Diesel prices also declined

Diesel prices have also seen a decline. In New Delhi and Kolkata, diesel prices have gone up by 18 paise. The price has gone up to Rs 64.01 and Rs 65.77 per liter respectively in both the metros. The price of diesel in Mumbai has been found to be 19 paise per liter. After this, the price of diesel has gone up to Rs 66.98 per liter. Even in Chennai, the price of diesel has dropped by 19 paise. After this, diesel leeterers have gone up to Rs 67.58 today.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has announced a major increase in petrol and diesel prices. Arun Jaitley has made a big announcement of reduction of excise duty in his press conference. On the increase in petrol and diesel prices, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has hiked petrol and diesel prices by Rs. Announced a reduction of 2.50.

The central government has announced a reduction of its excise duty by Rs 1.50 a liter, while the oil marketing companies own Rs. 1 will decrease. Petrol and diesel will cost Rs. 2.50 has decreased. At the same time, Jaitley has also announced that he will request state governments to reduce the VAT rate on petrol and diesel.

The prices in the BJP-ruled states may be reduced
Jaitley, while announcing the price of petrol and diesel, said that last year the Center had reduced the excise duty of two rupees to the petrol and diesel prices. This time, BJP-ruled states also reduced VAT rates. Jaitley's Rs. After declining 2.5, it is possible that BJP-ruled states can reduce VAT.

The price may fall further in Gujarat
After Jaitley's announcement, there is a possibility that the Gujarat government can also reduce the VAT. If this happens, then Rs. More than 2.5 per cent of the price can fall. With the constant increase in petrol and diesel prices, there is anger against the Modi government across the country. Petrol price in many cities in the country is about Rs. 90 has crossed. Petrol price has reached Rs 84 on Thursday in Delhi. Meanwhile, the central government was churning out excise duty on fuel prices. The meeting was held in Delhi.

Petrol and diesel prices were up 15 paise and 20 paise per liter respectively on Thursday. Considering the rising prices of petrol and diesel, the government considers alternatives to preventing adverse impact on its economy. Sources said that in this regard, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley met Prime Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday evening. Public oil marketing companies on Thursday said in a release that petrol and diesel prices have been raised by 15 paise and 20 paise per liter respectively. After this increase, petrol in Delhi is now Rs 84 per liter and diesel is 75.45 rupees. Both of them have an all-time high level.

There is a possibility of the worsening worsening condition of farmers already due to rising fuel prices. Especially in rabi crops it has more effect. Diesel is currently sold at high prices. Diesel is the most used in the field of agriculture. From trailer farming to farm pumpset to irrigation all the diesel is run. So the rising price of diesel affects farmers.

These schemes invest across market capitalisation based on the view of the fund manager. They invest mostly in largecap and midcap stocks, with a small allocation to smallcap stocks. A regular investor can benefit from the uptrend in any of the sectors, categories of stocks by investing in these schemes.

Gunotsav 8 Result 2018 @ www.gunotsav.org :As a part of the Government of Gujarat’s initiative to ensure quality education of students in Government schools and to increase awareness for quality in the education community, the government carries out ‘Gunotsav’ a quality improvement programme in which students are assessed every year since 2009. S, EI has been involved in supporting the existing Gunotsav programme for 33,900 primary schools in Gujarat. The programme has also been extended to cover all Secondary schools. in 2017 Year Gunotsav 7 will be hedl on date 1,2,3 December 2017 for Primary Schools in gujarat .For the project, EI develops questions and analyse the data for Gunotsav assessment by teachers (school self assessment) and by officers (officer carried out assessment). In addition, detailed diagnostic assessment of learning levels are carried out on a sample basis by trained evaluators All districts for classes 3, 5, 7 and 9, in order to gather scientifically validated learning achievement data. Research into student misconceptions are done through student interviews .Schools undergoing remedial program across the state are monitored by EI trainers on a sample basis to check their efficacy. A series of capacity building workshops for state and district personnel to develop latest skills in building and using student assessments, post analysis and dissemination workshops for teachers to understand the insights from the data and incorporate the information in classroom practices are part of the project.
